According to scholarshipstats.com roughly 454,000 boys participated in high school soccer in 2022-2023. Around 36,500 (8%) of those athletes were afforded the opportunity to play college soccer, with only 4,226 (.9%) of the 36,500 of boys playing at the NCAA D1 Level.

Girl high school soccer players fared somewhat more favorably with 390,000 playing high school soccer, 41,200 (10.6%) playing in college, and only 9,486 (2.4%) becoming NCAA D1 Student-Athletes.
